Almost there class!
Today we recycled a lot of the vocabulary and grammar that we've learned this week.
We started with a little problem solving through role play. A game called "Dicey Sketches".
Groups of four students rolled their die (singular) to decide their roles within the situation. Then they rolled again to find out the location of their situation. Amador, Donghee, Sara and Elainy had a shoplifter in a supermarket who ended up getting a job as a security guard there! Bernardo, Nia, Rayoung and Francesco had a suspicious situation in a pub which ended in bribery and blackmail but everyone was happy. And finally, Naima and Vanessa had a scary time in the bank when they were held up by Lenaic and Manuel the drunk and beggar! But they were safe in the end because the beggar and the drunk killed each other!
I was really impressed with you all, you recycled a lot of vocabulary from the week and previous weeks and your role plays were all very well acted and thought out. Well done!
We moved on then to talk about problems and criticising. We talked about the kind of problems couples tend to have and how they blame each other. We did some name-calling too!
After listening to eachother's problems we spent a little time giving some advice to the other couples about how they could resolve their problems. Unfortunately, for the newly married couple it seemed that the best option for them was to get a divorce. Ooops!
We listened to some people saying goodbye then. A child who didn't want to go to bed, a man and a woman who'd just recently met but seemed to be falling in love and a group of students saying goodbye to their teacher. Can you remember which word goes in which space? Test yourself!
We finished off then with a little race to match adjectives with their dependent prepositions. We'll do it again next week and see how many you can remember!
It was Vanessa's last day in the class today so, it's been great working with you Vanessa! Have a safe journey and keep in touch when you come back next week!
We have the test tomorrow so use the blogs from earlier in the week to help you review and don't forget to do your homework!
See you tomorrow,
Éadaoin
